Long Way Home Pit Bull Rescue is a 501c3 nonprofit that is committed to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming pit bulls and other bully type breeds.

Our rescue operates out of Bryan/College Station and San Antonio, Texas. We partner with shelters, veterinary clinics and independent rescuers throughout the state by accepting pit bull type dogs in need of second chances and providing high quality veterinary care and nutrition while carefully screening for adoptive homes.

All LWH dogs reside in foster homes, allowing them to truly bloom while waiting for adoptive families. While many of  our dogs are survivors of abuse, neglect and other forms of cruelty, the "pit bull spirit" always shines through. Our rescue is run by volunteers who embrace differences: we never shy away from disability, illness or other challenges - we lean in.

We are LWH Pit Bull Rescue and this is what we do.

Our Team

Long Way Home Pit Bull Rescue is run entirely by volunteers who donate their time to the organization. They share a love for pits and work tirelessly alongside our foster families to find homes for the dogs in their care.
